WHAT IS GRS?
The GRS –Global Recycled Standard– is an international, voluntary full product
standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions.
The standard aims to meet the needs of companies looking to verify the recycled content of their (both finished and intermediate) products. Also GRS is intended to verify responsible social, environmental and chemical practices in production.
The objectives of the Global Recycled Standard are to define requirements that ensure good working conditions and accurate content claims, as well as minmising harmful environmental and chemical impacts. This includes companies involved in ginning, spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing and stitching in more than
50 countries.
